Several cashiers, one stock file, and a drawer count that matches the shift.
Noman Aslam builds the POS for a mart or supermarket. Every counter sells from the same products and the same prices. Each cashier has a shift, and closing compares the drawer with the payments that till recorded. Deliveries land in the storeroom and move to the shelf. If you also sell loose or expiring food, those grocery rules sit on top. Hourly work is $35. A fixed fee is a custom quote after the number of counters is known.
Who this is for
You have more than one checkout, a barcode on most products, and a back room that is not the shelf. A price change has to reach every till. A manual price typed all day currently makes the stock report useless.
A single grocery counter with a scale is the grocery page. A building with garments, electronics, and grocery as separate departments is the mall page.
What I build
- One product list and one price, shared by every counter
- A login, a float, and a closing count per cashier
- Stock that cannot silently go negative when two tills sell the last piece
- A storeroom and a shelf, with a transfer between them
- Purchase receiving that increases the back room from the supplier document
- A day report of sales, returns, payment types, and manual price overrides
Barcode scanners and receipt printers are tested on your counters. Card numbers stay on the payment device. Weight and expiry are included when the mart sells those goods.
What you keep
- One set of sales for the whole shop, still split by cashier
- The product file and the receiving history
- The code
How an engagement starts
- You say how many counters are open at once, and where a delivery is put down.
- I separate the shelf from the storeroom, and a shift from the shop's day.
- We continue at $35 an hour, or I send a fixed quote once the counters and the reports are specific.
- Each cashier closes their own shift. You read one day.
I will not give every cashier a private product list, or hide manual prices from the day's report.
Read these before the call
- One stock file and several cashiers
- Weight and perishables, if you sell them
- All shop and POS work
- Pricing — $35 an hour, or a custom quote
Questions
What if two counters sell the last item?
The second sale should stop that line, or ask a manager. The quantity should not disappear into a negative number with no record.
Can a cashier change a price?
Only if you allow it. Every manual price is listed on the shift report.
How do you charge?
Hourly work is $35. A fixed fee is a custom quote after the counters, locations, and reports are defined.
